A/V performance by Rudi Punzo

The Semiautomatic Light Orchestra consists of three elements: The Rhythm Section (one percussionist photovoltaic robot that also shimmers with iridescent lights); The Rudidrones  (an electro-acoustic set of musical sculptures) and The Electronics. (The Electronics consists of handmade, hacked hardware and an Urlaluci, a photovoltaic controlled synthesizer.)
The random flux of noise that results from these hybridizations of art and technology creates a new kind of free-form symphony, in which each robotic element contributes to the composition, orchestrated as much by the light that controls them as by the human (me).
Also, complementing the give and take of this human/non-human musical arrangement are moving images from two different analog video sources, mingled and projected onto the stage, giving yet another life to the hypnotic, mesmerizing alchemy of these wondrous visual and aural hybrids.
